Humans have a profound sensitivity to petrichor, the scent that emanates from the ground when rainwater comes into contact with dirt and vegetation. This superpower harkens back to ancestral times when locating water sources was critical to human survival. Now with the stakes lower, petrichor is reminder of how and where our food is grown. This scent is the first thing that hits you when you walk onto Titusville Farm and begin to take in the 170 acres of lush Hudson Valley farm land.
Titusville Farm was established way back in 1788 as Cornell Farm but in recent decades was left fallow and over-worked until it’s 2020 rebirth as Titusville Farm. After 5 years of soil regeneration by its new family the property is now a four-season, diversified fruit and vegetable farm. The farm produces organic vegetables, fruit, cut flowers and beautifully colored pasture raised eggs from happy little hens.

New to the table this week:
Celery, Dandelion Greens, Eggplants, Shishito Peppers and Fresh Onions. Fresh lettuces continue with Endive, Escarole, Butter, Green Leaf and Red Leaf. Also on offer are Kale, Collards, Green Beans, Cabbage, Garlic Scapes (get them while you can and Zucchini. Last and likely to sell out are Cherry, Heirloom and Slicing Red Tomatoes.

This summer the team at Titusville Farm has opened a farm stand, which is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday, 10AM to 4PM. We encourage you to try the life changing arugula and if you want to experience ‘summer in a bite’ the team recommends one of their giant organic heirloom tomatoes sliced and topped with flaky salt and fresh garlic scapes.
In the fall the property’s historic farmhouse will open as market and a café, stocking fresh cut flowers, fruit from the orchard and organic vegetables as well as goods from local farm partners.
Find pasture raised eggs from Titusville Farm in the Breakfast Box and organic vegetables in the Grill Box.
